Consistency is the biggest issue.

Tying a big enough knot in the same spot almost works as well but the knot is asymmetrical at least in <i>some</i> respect so you get different "feel" depending on rotation.&nbsp; Also, a knot big enough to be effective for bare fingers does get hung up occasionally.&nbsp; I didn't try for the specific style (formed wire) of bead, but it's all they had in the size I wanted in material other than some kind of glass.&nbsp; The stopper for the bead is totally unobtrusive in the tree, and the bead can slide on the line a little in the rare event <i>it</i> gets a little jammed up in the tree.&nbsp; The knot forming the main loop is almost the same size as the bead, and is itself somewhat protected from snags by the bead.

The distance to the stopper knot from the end of the line maybe could be an inch or two longer, but the bag never drags on "stuff" while at the bottom of the arc of swing.

I'll lay off it now here, though, unless more specific questions need answering.&nbsp; It's really not pertinent to the topic of the thread.
