From reading this thread i have learned several things..
foremost there is a LOT of BS'ing going on on about splitting wood.
Fiskars makes a great axe.
there is wood out there that dont have knots or crotches.
a lot of people are busting thier hump doing a lot of work to make a woodpile.
company's that use firewod processors are wasting a LOT of money spending thousands of dollors on them when they could hire somebody with an axe a lot cheaper and get the wood split faster and cheaper.
now i understand why when i bought my splitter i had to get a BIG saw with a LONG bar to compensate for my lack of "manlyness" , funny it happened about the same time i got a script for viagara ?? or maybe them 40 inch rounds of 20 in long oak were to much to pick up and put on another piece and whack on like an idiot time after time ??
i also learned some people use an axe for more than kindling..
learned i must be the biggest "wuss" on here,,use small, lighter saws for limbing, bother to go and get a bigger saw for bucking,THEN take the time to get a bigger saw for the large stuff, use a dumptruck to unload wood, use a big hydraulic splitter, even in the VERTICLE position so i can SIT down and split,PILE my wood instead of stack, and only use an axe for making kindling..
now i know i havent gotten smarter after all these years,,just older, weaker and dumber..
