Square filing am I doing it right?

Here's my first attempt with the correct file. I would like to get the inside corner to line up. Guess I oughta tweak my ways a bit.

Nothing wrong with that tooth at all. It will be fast cutting if all of them match with that thing up plate and small angle underneath. Tak the gullet on back with a 5/32" file even with the side plate.

Mdavlee. This is for a bar that I don't have. Just a loose chain I had that I never realized was square filed and was rocked fairly good. I will be filing the gullets. I have to get cutter length equal. Some are rocked worse then others so I'll go Around and practice.

Question about filing the gullet. Should I follow the angle of the side plate or just run the file perpendicular to the side plate?

Go with an angle similar to the top plate.
