and i'm looking for a chipper. i don't have a great deal of money to spend, and i noticed a much better price on a 6" Rayco than i would have expected. i've only operated Vermeer models and don't know anyone personally who's spent any time with a Rayco, so i'm wondering if anyone has any wise words on 'em. Thanks, Ezekiel.

I saw that..

directly after posting this thread. So far no one has commented on Rayco, but I'm guessing for the price it's either garbage or the deal of a century.

I’ve been pricing them for a while and just got a 06 Vermeer bc600xl for 3800. I see you’re in Virginia and I know Vermeer Mid Atlantic has a used Ryco posted for I believe 4400 I spoke with the sales Manager and he steered me away from it. I got mine today in Winston-Salem but had looked at an 02 Bandit 65aw hours un known with A 25hp Lombardi diesel they offered it to me at a steal 3000 it started right up and appeared in fair condition, the frame had tack welds from what I hear that engine has some severe vibrations if interested I can give you there contact information, I came close to getting it but the fact that it hadn’t been rented out in 2ys threw me off but could end up being a good unit...
