Anyone here have an 028 Service manual to sell before I buy one on eBay? Or better yet, anyone have one in .pdf or similar they might share? :D

Yes. Service Manual. I have the original owners manual and an IPL (thanks to someone here). I'm about to do a major rebuild so the Service Manual would be nice.

I have a service manual for the MS 280 can you use that ??

Nope, I need that one too. That's the only one I don't have to cover my Stihls. I have the IPL, but see you've got that already. I don't think the 280 manual covers it, that model is too dissimilar I think. Good luck with your rebuild. Have two 028s, love mine, find them very easy to work on. The only thing I wish they had was side bar tension.:pumpkin2:

The newer 028's can be converted to side tension. If you take off the bar and the metal plate to get to the tensioner; the old style only accepts the front tensioner. The newer style 028 Super case is cast so that it will accept a side tensioner assembly. Then you can either drill a hole in the clutch cover or the newer style clutch cover will fit right on too.

My 028S has stock side tensioner on it, so it must be possible.
 
Never considered I had the option, guess you learn something everyday. One mine is the last varient of 028 I believe, should work then.:clap:
