Stihl 024 oil pump

I have an early metal pump
1121 647 0400
It won’t pump any oil and it’s hard to turn. I’m wondering if the plastic pump is a direct replacement? Or do you have to change anything else. Thanks JP

If you could get that steel pin out the pump could be disassembled and cleaned.

Actually what I did is drilled out the Welch plug that goes on the other end. there was a piece of ***** jammed in There. Then I tapped it for a grub screw and cleaned everything else up including the tank. Had to take it apart two more times until I figured out a put the worm gear in backwards. Oils good now. I also purchased a used oil pump off eBay same as the one I have
