Stihl 026 oil pump

Greetings all.

I need to find a replacement Stihl 026 oil pump PN 11216470040 which has been long discontinued. In another thread, one member (Lakeside53) recommended replacing it with PN 1121 6403202. Would anyone know if my original worm (i.e., from the '400 pump) will work with the replacement '3202 pump? Thanks for any guidance.

I have the non-adjustable pump. What is shown in the IPL is the 11216403202 non-adjsutable pump ( plus assocaited worm (ref number 16)).

I have an earlier version pump PN 1121 6470400 which is not shown in the IPL and is very difficult to find (at least for me). That is why I think I need to replace it with the '3202 pump.

I have no PN for the worm for my pump PN 11216470400 so I have no idea whether my existing worm will work with a replacement '3202 pump.

Not sure if worm fits. Might be better with complete new pump.

They sell adj pump kits, if your case has the place for adjustment screw

6202 should be the right pump.

I believe the only difference between the old number for the “fixed” crank driven oil pumps was the old number was for a metal housed pump, the newer number is a plastic housing, the worm should interchange, but even if it doesn’t and you need to replace the pump you’ll have to buy a worm anyway if you can’t find an old pump. Just a thought. Most older 026’s don’t have the housing cutout for the adjustable if you wanted to “upgrade”, unless it was bought as a “pro” model. The newer models have the cutout for the adjustable pump. I recently just converted a late model 026 to the adjustable, but others will tell you it is a lot of work if the cutout isn’t in the case already, luckily mine was.

I can find a replacement plastic "3202 pump but without the worm. That is why I need to make sure my old worm will work.

Unfortunately, my saw does not have the cutouts for an adjustable oiler. If it did, I would go the conversion route.

Keeping a 40 year old saw going is a hard thing to do.

I think the worm is about ten dollars from Stihl. Maybe less on Amazon but not really worth it for a few dollars. My 026 is one of my go to saws and dare I say it, (gonna catch hell for this) I like as much as my 346XP NE. Hope ya get it sorted.

Also, You will also probably want to replace the rubber feed line from the pump to bar mount area if it hasn’t been replaced for a while. They tend to harden up and split when removing them.

If for some reason you can’t get the worm, PM me and we can probably figure something out. I have the plastic pump and worm laying around and maybe get it shipped to ya. It would be international shipping though, don’t know the cost.

Parts 20, 21 and 22 all show up as available. This particular site is European but any North American Stihl dealer should be able to get.
