Stihl 026

I lucked into this 026 yesterday, almost looks like it's been in a time capsule....only real wear is on the base of the saw. I'll probably swap out the 20" bar for a 16-18" lightweight bar, interested in seeing how it compares with a Husqvarna 242XP.

Yep, nice looking 026. No matter what you paid. One of my favorite saws.

The 024 AV is more comparable to the 242, the 026 has more power on paper, and very different power delivery.
It definitely is less high strung, and there is more torque there due to its longer stroke.
Don't get me wrong, I like my 242, but my ported 026 sees way more runtime. I wouldn't dream of running 3/8 on the 242 like I do on the 026, let alone strapping on anything bigger than a 16" bar, definitely not the 25 the 026 sees semi regularly...

very nice red master switch....thats an early saw i think....just got a 26 out of the dump. a runner but not as nice as that one..very rugged saw
