you're right stihl couldn't tell me anything...I really think it's a 028 avqs..I'll be taking the cylinder off tomorrow

Well guy`s, today while rummaging through some boxes of parts that have been in the shop for more than a year now I came across this box, guess what this fits!!

this saw looks identical to my 028 wood boss

I finally was able to get the cylinder off, and the bore is 44mm and the piston is domed starting right from the ring land, not a "pop up" which only protrudes only a few cm from the center.

What upgrades can be done? I'd like to keep the same cylinder

So I need a muffler, piston, 2 top covers...I wonder if it's worth fixing??

I hate to part it out

I have an echo cs-5000 that's about the same size and a poulan pro 295. I need to start selling some of these saws....I have close to 50 saws now...not good.
