Just here for the free beer!
I have a Stihl 028 that I bought as a parts saw, I took the bar and chain off it to use on my 026. The previous owner of the saw told me that it needed crank seals. I took the saw apart and removed the old crank seals, the bearing on the clutch side looks to have a knick out of the one roller, the flywheel side had a small pry mark on the case where the seal would be, I assume maybe the original owner attemptted to pry the seal out. I assume to do the job right a guy should split the case and replace the bearing, I am not sure I want to invest the time and energy on this saw. The cylinder and piston looks good still and the saw itself is pretty clean for it's age. If anybody is looking for a project 028 or a parts saw shoot me an offer. PHO
