Hello, I have searched the forum and found some helpful information. I have a 032 AV that runs great, but stalls after running for a while. Then it will not start until it cools down. I am not very familiar with this set up, so I have some newbie questions.

Should the coil touch the flywheel? Should the coil bolts be tight? When testing for spark should I disconnect the switch?

Thanks in advance!

assuming your not bein a smart a** the coil should not be touching the flywheel, yes the coil bolts should be tight, put a buisness card inbetween the coil and flywheel and tighten bolts, then check for spark

Stihl 032 AV Coil

Anyone know where I could get aN Av Coil for a Stihl 032? Thanks so much.

Slow down a minute guy. If it runs, coil may not be the problem. I have only had one coil of that style fail partially. Most times they either work or not. What makes you think it needs a new coil? Have you checked the points? Fuel issues are VERY common on saws of that vintage, particularly with the new crappy fuels. Even if the coil came loose and rubbed the flywheel a little, it could still go on and live for several dozen more years. The fuel lines on those saws are *ahem* ...unconventional ... Could be a fuel line breaking down or a fuel tank vent issue. If you learn how to post pictures, we can be of alot more help.

My bad, thought it was the same guy looking for the coil. That started the thread.

stihl o32

Thanks Hollisst. I am sure it's the coil. The lead wire broke off. I checked ebay with no luck. Any other suggestions. Thanks again
