I recently did I rebuilt on my carburetor. Afterward, I looked over a parts diagram and realized that someone (prior to me, not original saw owner) had taken the fuel strainer out of the carb.

Should I bother taking the carb apart again to replace the strainer, or just let it be? I'm assuming aside from the obvious filtration issue, the strainer has not part in affecting the carburetor performance.

Ideas?

The carb does need the fuel strainer...YES it does. Otherwise the kit for the Bing carb is pricey. If it is working, that is a good thing. If it has to be replaced...well that's another. Every carb needs the fuel strainer. :chop:
