stihl 044

I have stihl ms-440 in very good condition. Its has a 24" stihl rsn, bar dual fallings dogs, and a stihl dual port magnum muffler. This saw has verry little run time on it. I basicaly used it to buck slightly less than 20 cords of firewood into 3 foot blocks. It has been run only on mobil syn oil and premium fuel and has been maintained perfectly. Cosmeticlay it is like new except for some paint missing from the bar. The powerhead has no scratches t speak of. I am asking $495 OBO for this saw.

Because its Dolmar 7900 time and I already have too many saws.

Price is down to $450.oo. Saw has now been used daily for three weeks. Still maintained perfectly and in really good shape.

is there a difference betwee the ms440 and 044?? i hear the 044's perform better because of less emission controls?? or is that a rumor?

I think in general thats untrue. The older non epa 044's where rated for less power than the 044 and ms440 of the past few years. My saw actually has a pre epa muffler on it and as a result is has about the same power as a 460. At any rate the saw is sold.
