Hi all. Just found this forum and think it very interesting. I own am looking for a piston for my 045. Of course, it is NLA from my dealer but i desperately want to get this saw in perfect running order since it was a gift from a friend and I really like it. Anyone here know of good aftermarket sources or NOS parts. I'll also need to split the crankcase to change the big gasket and the bearings, but my dealer can accomodate me there.
If it makes a difference, I have the 045 Super (54mm piston). I know that an 056 is the updated 045, so I'll ask if a piston would work from this saw. Someone here mentioned that the newer 056s had a better, lighter piston design. I even noticed that an 066 has the same piston diameter, so I'm wondering if it'll work also. Just looking at all my options.
FYI, in addition to the 045, I have an 031 and an 075.
