stihl 064

hey fellas, im looking for some info on a stihl model 064. i know its a pro model saw but thats about it. whats the motor size, dependability, and parts availity? is it compareable to the 066 or the 044? thanks in avance for any help.

I believe that the 064 was the predecessor to the 066. I believe it was somewhere around 85 cc's. I also believe that is is a rock solid saw just as the 066 is. Parts shouldn't be a problem. I can still get all the parts formy 028 that was made in 1983. If you e-mail that will provide you with all the info that you need.

$10 in 64, yikes. You had a 45-50 gallon tank? My first car was an old Volvo, bought in 1971. It usually cost between 2 and 2.50 to fill, at about 23 cents a gallon.

well thanks for the info but it seems i messed aroun too long. i missed the deal. rbtree, i wish i could even remember seeing that price for gas, letalone paying it! i can remember paying 79 cents in summer of 98 but thats about the lowest. im about to go broke putting gas in my truck.

try to explain to the bank that you cant afford to drive to work for the gas prices and because of that you cant afford to make your house payment!

I started to drive in about 1970. I remember gas wars where the price was $0.25 or $0.20 a gallon. When I was poor ( as a teenager - all of the time) I used rolls of pennies to buy gas.

Was also thinking, my 3/4 ton diesel looks a lot better getting 19 miles to the gallon and fuel at $1.55 instead of $2.09 for mid grade gas
