Stihl 076 chain brake: kits ?

brake for 076 super

Before I search fleabay, I wanted to see if anyone else has a chainbrake for an 076. Please PM if you have one available. I am currently building an 076 Super from old TS 760 cases (yes I have installed the oiler without case modifications). I will update my old thread on this after I finish the build with the saw running, cutting, and oiling as it should. Expensive build, but still cheaper than buying a new one from Mexico. Hi Trevor,
I'll keep my eyes open for a brake for you. My local shop has some old parts, new and used. I think I got their last 076 brake. If I find another one, I'll let you know.
Also, I talked to a saw shop on the Oregon coast last week (Astoria). He told me that folks are using big Stihl saws in the midwest to cut hardwoods. I know that's kinda vague info but it's a potential lead. I also talked to another guy on the phone last week about 076 parts as I'm looking for a muffler cover. He still cuts timber but occasionally sells on Ebay when he has the time. I don't recall is Ebay seller name. He has more parts for all kinds of saws but not enough time to advertise them all. Suggest you contact some Ebay sellers to see what else they have in their inventory. Good luck.

Thank you Will for helping me locate one. I use an 075 for milling and the 076 Super will be a backup milling and used for felling/ bucking anything big I come across for milling. Thanks again for your help and have a blessed day.

No problem Trevor. I'm looking every day for spare parts for my saws. Can't seem to stop once I got started. I may be a CAD candidate...
