Ouch! Sorry to hear that.
The crazy thing is that I have been running the saw a bunch. What can cause the crank to be bent? The piston and cylinder look good through the intake and exhaust.
Ouch! Sorry to hear that.
nice saw. Hope you have a good crankshaft.
Matt
Pull the flywheel and clutch and check for runout. Any radial play in the bearings? Plastic cages gone letting the balls bunch up?
Should I go with the cast aluminum syle muffler or the big black tin one?
The cast aluminum muffler was used on the S-10 (top handle versions which were manufactured from 1968 through 1973.) The 08S saws had the sheet metal muffler.
Brad, I was curious if there was a noticeable difference in the sound output between the sheet metal and cast aluminum mufflers, taking in consideration that there were several different sized p & c versions over the years?
I don't recal from when I rebuilt them. They're now all shelf queens setting on the shelf over my desk drained and run dry.
Do you have some track lighting shining down on them?
Nope They make their own glow!

Hey Brad, you could make some neat display bases out of a couple of your large cookies and motorize them in a number of ways.
