I have been watching this thread since it came up. We also own a 210C It is 1 year old so yes it is broken in. We also own a 2050 Poulan so-called POS (maybe right). Now I dont know if I can tune a carb like the 'sperts, nor do I know if I can sharpen a chain like you pros BUT. I do tune both saws and file the Carton N1C chains on both saws and the 2050 Poulan POS will and always has since new, cut circles around the 210. I would bet very close to 2-1 faster cutting 4-10" limbs. Check the CCs, shouldnt be. It is so gutless I wont run it. Runs out good, sounds good, carb is set to 4 stroke coming out of the cut, it just has no balls, period. Gutted the 210 muffler and it got louder, not quicker. Torque is about on par with the old mini Mac 35 but will RPM more and thus out cut the old Mac by a smidgen which is a real feather in it's cap eh?. If the 210 is as good as mini Stihls get Ill buy up some POS Poulans and at least get some work done while they last.

It may be where the 210 sits in the product line. I think the MS170 and MS180 cut well because of the smaller chain, and after the MS210 is the MS250 with 1 HP more power.

I took the advice of some of the replies I got here and had the 210 serviced and chain sharpened, with the same result. The good news is the dealer said if I am not happy I could return the 210 for another saw. They carry Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo.

Am really tired of watching my friend with the Husky 142 smurk when he flies through 8" of wood while I have to go so slow as to not stop the chain.

I will look at exchanging the MS210 for a Husky 142, Husky 345, or a MS250.
I really didn't want to jump up in price or weight of the 3HP saws, but the MS210 is sure a disappointment.

The 250 is a real nice saw, and weighs basially the same as the 210...

I think my MAC335 is also sold as a Poulan (2050? 2150??). It came back from the husky repair shop for the fourth time yesterday.

I ran all my saws through a 8"x8" block of seasoned hardwood. The MAC335 was about half the speed of my MS-180C, which is probably a bit less than half the speed of the 750VL.

750 eh? I just picked up two Echos in a deal models 750EVL and 660EVL, the 750 is a neat saw but the jury is still out on the 660. Both are wearing 20" bars now.

all husky cylinders with removable transfer covers are made in the mac factory. good or bad who cares. makes them easy to mod.

Yes, my 750VL is nice. Lots of metal, a real solid saw. Starts wonderfully. Feels about as powerful as my car (more a comment on the car than the saw!) It's also wearing a 20" bar.

Shame it doesn't have a chain brake. :^( I'm always a bit more careful (nervous?) with this one than the 180C.

Take it back to the dealer and have them check the bar and chain out. making sure it the right stuff. Also check the oiler. .2 less hp in the little saws make a whole lot of difference. 021's are not really powerful. If you have not tried the MS180, give a try. It has about the same amount of power but it uses a smaller kerf chain. The 021 uses 3/8 lp .050 ga chain, the 180 uses 3/8 lp .043.. ga. Works pretty good. Good luck.
