I picked up a new 261 last weekend for a great price and just noticed it's a 261 CMQ version. From what I see it looks like this saw is about 100.00 more than a regular CM version. Am I reading this correctly and if so why so much of a difference? Any input on this saw would be great.

The Q denotes that the saw is equipped with a second type of chain brake that engages when you take your right hand off the handle. It's more expensive because there is another assembly to pay for, and also probably because they don't make very many of them. Personally I think it seems like a good safety feature.

Just for grins I called a local dealer and the CM is 589.00 while the CM-Q is 729.00 so a 140.00 difference. Wow! Now I feel like my deal last weekend is even better when I paid 400.00 for a new one thinking it was a CM. :)

You got a smoking deal. Those don't come along all that often.
