Well a couple of days ago, I had a 311y (why) the heck do I have this. To a 024. Measured the stroke, kind of hard to get a good measure, but I never had one over 30mm.

So I have a 024.

Thanks for all your help.

If you have an adjustable carb (has H & L needle on the carb) you can open the muffler and gain a fair amount of power. It is certainly worth discussing. It won't harm your saw in anyway and can actually let it run cooler.

Yes, its an 024. Now trying to determine if its a super is the tricky part. If the con rod is stamped I'm pretty sure its a plain 024. If its cast then its a super. Anyone else have tell tale signs of determining the difference?

Btw my apologys to the member I was busting on about using the search feature.

It SUCKS

If I remember correctly 024 Super/Wood Boss and the 026 have a caged rod bearing on the crank the 024AV doesn't.
Shep

from the scrap pile, looks like 46 or 47 mm across top of piston.. I just measued quick with a ruler,in the middle of snowstorm! back of flywheel is marked stihl 11254001202.. the starter recoil is 1250801808, the tank housing 11257711001..I will try to get back to it tomorrow and take a look at the crank Birddog
