Hi guys, Hows she cuttin?
I'm in the market for one of these two. I know they are quite new models, and maybe hasn't seen much use in the real world yet. I think I might be slightly leaning towards the 441. I have stihl and husky dealers within ten minutes of where I live, so I will be buying from one of them. Both saws are within £10 of each other, so price is'nt a factor.
I keep trying to justify buying another saw but I cant. But I'm going to buy it anyway.
Its all your fault, I was happy with my wee home owner MS 250 till I landed on this site. Then it happened, started to hear voices " Go on buy another one, you really need it and its cheap as well " The strange thing is most of the voices I hear has an American accent. I think its time for chainsaws anonymous for me.
So all help much appreciated

I did a comparrison on both a while back....I have both and each of them are about three weeks old. Here is what I found..
For me the 575's handles fit my hands better, and it seems more of a natural fit altogether. As far as cutting, man they are CLOSE....I'd give the edge barely to the 575...But the 441 is no slouch,it seems more quiet and is a great saw. You'll be happy with either one....I've had Stihl's mostly since I've been in the business, but it seems that husky's are quickly filling my stables.

that is a tough call......

on the new generation of "green" saws.i haven't run either but i have looked at both.i'd be more inclined to get the 441.i like the way it feels.guys that have the 441 seem to love it.guys that have the 575 either love it or hate it.more lately seem to love it.i personnally would rather have the 372 than either but if i had to choose i'd go with the 441.

Can't compare as I don't have a 575, but I'll throw out some feedback on the 441. Right out of the gate it started and ran smooth, even in sub zero weather(Fahrenheit). Tank of fuel seems to last forever. I wish it would put out more oil. I may swap out the oiler for the high output one someday. The new filtration and antvibe system does everything Stihl claims they would. I also have a new Husky, and love it. Like Timberhauler said, you can't go wrong either way.

I looked at a 575 friday before i bought the 441 on monday.I liked both saw.
Both felt great.2 reasons I picked the 441 ! was price I got the 441 50 less than the 575. the 2 nd the cover on 441 just seemed abit more durable.
cant go wrong with either

Have not and won't run the Husky.
I have had the 441 since it came out last year. Very nice and smooth, filter does everything that they say and there is no vibration so no tingling in the hands. Great savings on fuel as well.
Good luck.

Close your eyes (just kidding) start the saws and run them, screw brand thing that some are hung up on. Just see what feels the best in your hands and has the cutting power you are looking for with smoothness in the cut etc. When money is the same and dealers are both good, go with what feels good to YOU. JMO.

Never ran a "stock" 575 only a modded one.

The 441 is a great saw in all aspects!!!

Modded 575 by ? sneak it to me. :ices_rofl: So how did a modded 575 run compared to the modded 372's or the modded 375's? If they were all woods ported.

Have to agree with you on that one..........:givebeer:

I have heard the 575 has not been a good replacement for the 372XP. Maybe you should wait for another batch of the 372's to come around. I love the way my 372 runs, but if you want a saw right away I'd go with the 441.

That is only on a need to know basis!!!:)

Then I really dont care.:hmm3grin2orange: and really dont need to know.:hmm3grin2orange: Top secret saw stuff can be kept with the modder forever for all I care ;) . :hmm3grin2orange:

There may never be another batch of them in the US. This year's limited run is likely to be the last.

Something I thought of today while cutting, I do like the see through gas tank on the Stihl. I don't know if anyone else does this, and probably not a big thing, but it was handy to look at the saw before starting and know I didn't have to fill it.

I always fill up the saw after i quit cutting, alot easier that way :hmm3grin2orange:
