Hi Guys,

I just got several Stihl es bars that don't have tips.. Other than that they are in great condition. I stoped by stihl on the way to work and got a couple tips. I always assumed that you used a punch and hammer to install the rivets. Well the rivets just kind of drop all the way into the hole without any resistance. They are beveled on one end and dimpled on the other. So I assume that you take a punch to the dimpled end to mushroom it out? Seems like a poor way to do it but its all I can think of. Let me know if this is right.

Thanks,
John

Put the bar and tip on a nice hard flat metal surface and tap the rounded end of them pins with a hammer until they are flat and snug. When both sides look the same, you got'er done.
