IMO, the old Stihl caps with a screwdriver slot are better than twist caps w/o the slot as I always have a T wrench in the woods and if not they can be done either way but the slot allows ease of operation with gloves on in winter,etc..
The flip caps remind me of British approach to designs, as in overdone.
Shows how much I know don't it. But now that I know, I won't make that mistake again.too bad thats not a flippy cap saw....066/660's were always screw caps
After all these years, I still hate those flippies as much as the first day I laid my eyes on them.
Are these replacements already for sale ? I couldn't find them on the website of LCS ?
Howdy,
I should have a supply about March - April. They'll sell for about $8.00 each.

Mabe the oil is ruining the caps. What oil ya usin?[emoji6]Who'd of thunk that the flippy cap could become the "new oil thread" ?
I love Stihl quality, too. I have seven Stihl chainsaws and a top-of-the-line Kombi system. Really enjoy them all EXCEPT for those darn cam-lock caps. IMHO, they are an embarrassment to the level of performance we expect. All other manufacturers do a better job when it comes to capping fluid reservoirs.LoveStihlQuality
