Stihl fuel filters - interchangeable?

Wow, didn't hear anyone talking about the Mtronics being so picky they needed a more discriminating filter! That is wild. Makes me even happier I chose a non-mtronic old school carb version.

The white filters are fine in the adjustable carb saws

Orange filter in all saws with larger fuel hose except injection. Done.

Why not in injection saws?

Went thru this with a 661CM.........

Fuel injection and Mtronic use solenoid valve to meter fuel and smaller orifices than carburetor. It is much easier to clog or hold open with less contamination than a carburetor. The orange filter is a must for Mtronic.
