Does anyone know what the part # is for the HD2 prefilter? I went to the dealer today and we looked through his computer and couldn't find it. Is there an aftermarket prefilter available? Thanks in advanced.

Outerwears is the aftermarket company that makes them.

No I don't think any of them do. I seen one yesterday on a 461 randy had finished port work on. It worked good to keep dust out of the filter. Panty hose would help a little until you can get one in.

I'll see if I can find one. I'm having saw withdraw since I sent my 461 to Randy. I've got my eye on a big white oak to sink it in when I get it back.

He said he had 2 more on the way. I guess one of them is yours.

Yep, it will be my first ported saw. The dealer told me today after I run a couple gallons through it to bring it back and he would check the tune. lol I didn't tell him I sent it out to get it ported or if he even knows about ported chainsaws. I just play dumb farmboy when I go in there. I should take it to him and let him run it when I get it back just to see the look on his face. :hmm3grin2orange:

During the summer months go to your local dirt track and watch sprint car race; go in the pits after a race and check out how many sprint cars have Outerwear (or a different brand) sox around there air filter. If you think chain saw's raise dust you haven't seen anything till your at a dirt track in the middle of summer and there protecting $40 k to $90 k motors

I hear ya. I went to my first dirt track race a couple of years ago. We wore our good clothes and boy was that a mistake. We took two folding chairs and you could scoop the dust off them when the race was over.

Outerwear PN# 20-2471 - Listed for use with MS441.

Should work on most anything with an HD2 filter right?

yes ,i just ordered 4 of those same ones

has anyone tried the filter cover off the reg Hd filters on the hd2 yet ?,seems like my reg hd didnt plug up like the hd2

There is no OEM prefilter for the HD2 filter,
you can use the outer filter band from the original HD filters if needed.
