Id say go out and buy 350 husky.... its best choice in that class..

I don't know personally, I've never owned or ran one but I was hanging out at the local saw shop the other day by the wood stove watching it rain. We were talking about the differnent brands and particularly new saw models and their problems in earlier models. Somewere in the middle of that conversation he said that "none of the Huskys have give as much trouble as the 350s. Probably not all the models combined." He didn't elaborate and I didn't ask sense I don't own one (didn't really matter to me).

it's like Jab said, every manufactur makes good saws and bad ones. I've personally never heard bad things about the 350, but i also don't work on them for a living either.

roughly how many trees are there, and what kind of trees?

id say get an Echo CS-520 for felling the trees, then a *gasp* Poulan Wild thing for buckin the limbs off.

The CS 520 is lightweight, powerful, and extremely reliable. Shouldnt have any problem with a 20" bar.

Poulan wild thing, take the 18" bar off, and put a 14" bar on, and it is an sweet, cheap, and easy to use bucking saw.

Simply take the adjustment limiters off, and tune it rich for break in, then lean for power after break in.

I found that the 4400 that I had was not too powerful a saw.I had a 8000 Echo and that wasnt too bad.I would go to Husky or Stihl and look for a good dealer for support.I have a Echo370 and so far it is not to bad,but it is for from broken in and I am hoping it loosens up some more,as I already have done a mild mod on the muffler.

Choices-Choices

I have a 250 and I use it for exactly what you've described. The saw performs well and I've been nothing but satisfied with the purchase. I've not used the other two saws that you've mentioned, therefore, I can't comment on them. However, in the application that you've described and sticking to your saw selection options...IMO the 250 would serve you well. If at some point you expect to have to cut larger wood, you may want to consider revising your choice selection. The real decision point lays with the location and quality of dealer nearest you, regardless of brand. In my case it was clearly STIHL. Good Luck!

I have a Echo cs510, cs5000 and a cs440 The 510 and 5000 just plain rip. 440 cut good to but no where near as good as the 510 and 5000. You would not need a poulan for limbing, none of these saw wear you out. Never had any troubles with any of them. Look all of the saws mentioned over real good as to how good they're made. Steve
