OK, if you read my Avoid the Noid on Ebay thread, you may know that I have a beater 210 that has a non-functioning oiler. How hard is it to get to it and replace it? Do I have to tear the whole thing down?

I think it's a matter of a few screws and some minor headaches. I'll look through my notes and post back later, I think I did an oiler on one of these about 2 years ago. Anyway I think ya be ok as long as you have some basic knowledge of the Stihls, all the smaller ones are about the same. I'll post back with some info if possible.

It's not very hard at all, its real similar to most all other stihl saws. In order to get access to it you will need to remove the clutch drum and clutch. After you do this you will be able to slide the worm gear off the crankshaft and remove a couple of screws to remove the oiler. You will need to lift the oiler slightly upwards to disconnect it from the plastic elbow piece that connects the oiler to the oil tank.

first steps

I JUST did this on my MS250, which I understand is the same.
Before you go to the extent of removing the oil pump, check the tank and filter first, my tank had quite a bit of crud in it, clean and rinse.

Then blow out the vent on the side, then remove the handle to pull out the oil line, check, clean and refit the whole shebang. The manual says you need a new o ring for the plastic thingy, I had one slightly smaller, seems to be working fine.
Test for oiling.
If no joy then take off clutch and check worm gear. You need a special tool to extract the pump itself so I didn't go that far, but when I put it all back together if oiled just fine, better than it ever did straight out of the shop.

I'll email you the shop manual that 04Uta sent me, share the love...
