Stihl ms362 Stihl 029 bar ??

I have a couple good old 029s and just bough a ms362 my question is will the bar chain combos interchange between the two saws.

The 362 comes with 3/8 chain. The 290's I've seen have .325 chains. I'm pretty sure you could set up a 290 to run 3/8's. Bars,chains and drive rim/sprockets are different. Look at the bars on both saws the info is printed on.

An 029 can run 3/8 and a 362 can run .325, but a 362 running .325 is not optimal in my opinion.

Anyway as long as the pitch is the same between the two then yes they are interchangeable.

I don't see a problem running 3/8 on 029 saws
