As Sawdr said, you would have as much in that saw as a new one. Let alone the labor.

Labor I'm not worried about, its my uncle. I kinda figured that the saw was almost to far gone. Its a shame to see such a new saw that prolly wont make it.

Case is all plastic on this saw. Its one piece, the oil tank, under the engine, and the fuel tank. Then the rear handle and top forward handle are their own pices but also one unit when assembled. Near as I can tell.

You are correct. The rear handles run pretty high. I found one for my 066 on ebay one time in good shape for 40 bucks. I was thinking they run around 150 bucks new. :censored:

Looks like you'll need some parts. Sadly, that top cover/handle assy is specific to the 390 with decomp, so nothing else will work well. I suppose you could cut a 290 cover, but it may not be pretty.

The top cover is useable, only a couple small cracks. The airfilter cover is useuable if I can find the twist knob for one.

Definitely need the Rear Handle, and the "Chassis" of the saw, Choke, Throttle, etc etc are definitely needed..lol.

You can find rear handles on Ebay that already have all the throttle pieces and everything if you're lucky. Well, you don't have to be really lucky as most have all that stuff with them.

Remember, 290, and 310 also will work.:)

So the jug is okay? No missing fins or anything?

Top cover and rear handle are all one piece on that saw. You'll be replacing the entire assy.

290 and 310 will not work on here for the top cover. This is the only 1127 series with a decomp valve, and there is a hole in the top cover for it.

Wow, I did'nt know that. That seems to bring on an even bigger problem.

Something along those lines, now I can see it in the pics I posted earlier. That cover there would work, but would need the hole for the Decomp cut out correct?

It is not all that big of a deal, as the profile of the opening is cast in the top cover, as a guide to cut out, so it would not be that hard.
I happen to sell parts for a ms290 on e-bay, I will be getting another "donor" saw this weekend, so the parts will be going up in my store.
If you want to get the parts from me, I will do the labor for free, you just pay shipping for the powerhead.......
My parts go for @ 1/2 of retail.
