Stihl ms400 crankcases

Hi, can any one tell me if the Stihl ms400 shares the same crankcases as the Stihl ms362 apart from a few minor alterations to the ms400 oil tank strengthening ribs they appear the same?

I've never had the 2 side by side and torn apart, so I can't say for sure. That being said, I think the transfers are substantially bigger on the 400 and likely don't interchange at all.

The cylinder bolt pattern will be different.
You'll need an Mtron three saw with V2 cases to even try it.

The cranckcase is not shared with the MS 362, no matter which version. The MS 400 has it`s own cranckcase.
