i like your thinking Ultra.

For me its Stihl,Husky and Dolmar.............................:D :D

.

why on earth would you limit yourself? i think a 7900 is next on the list.but then an 038 mad is nice too.wait, maybe a 288xp....................hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,decisions,decisions.

we should be very thankful...........

that we have at least three great saw manufacturers to choose from.

Can I get an Amen for the "Wild Thing"????
How can you title this thread Stihl / Husky and leave out "new model" Poulan's.

I think they are like blonds and brunettes. I like the smooth, capable, sexy ones and really dislike the lazy, ill tempered, unproductive ones. I don't need no wall flower chainsaw.
Dolmar would have to be like a red head, more rare than the blond and brunette, but has the same criteria.
I don't care what your family name is or what color you colored your hair, just do a good job.
The trouble I have switching back and forth between Stihl and Husky is the different geometry in the handles makes hitting my under cut difficult for a while after switching.

Well i have to say for years i was a husky guy but now i think that if i had to choose i would be STIHL all the way.I don't seem to have much luck with the husky's anymore.

Hate to be picky here, but weren't Bud Abbot and Lou Costello = Laurel & Hardy ?

No, they were "Abbott and Costello", "Laurel and Hardy" were Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Different styles, different eras. One was like a Husky, and the other like a Stihl in that way. In that event, Dolmar must have been like the 3 Stooges.

Stihl has been very good to me , husky hasn't.2 of 3 dealers quit them within 50 miles of me because it was to much service work with the husky. I simply don't trust their reliability and hate workin on em when I should be cuttin. They surely make some good ones, but the 3 (2 new)i bought didnt treat me well.I dont say all Stihls are perfect ,but for me I usually make some money with my stihl purchases. My personal saws cut mostly firewood up to 30+ in. diameter, some stumps and brush. I also buy a few fixer upper saws that I usually test run quite a while and then sell them. Also I like the sachs- dolmars I've had. I'm watchin for a deal someday for 1 of the dolmars.
If I was a tree trimming company or logger most of mine would say Stihl to this day.

I have had Stihl's that were "made on Monday" and crap saws also.
YMMV Any good name brand saw will preform if it is made right and properly maintained.

Your just pushing your favorite brand and that ain't right.

Can't argue with this little girl about which is the best saw.

Wow, I'd swear that picture was of my cousin's daughter except for the house she's in. My cousin runs a tree business with stihls but I've never seen him with that hat and that isn't his house. But the resemblence is striking. I can't really give an opinion on stihl or husky since I've never owned a husky. I'd have to say they look pretty good but there are no dealers around me(except big box stores) and my stihl dealer treats me to good.
