stihl part #s

does anybody know stihls part #s for the outside dawgs (spikes) on a ms 440
and are they going to line up with the inside one or do i have to buy both of them. also looking for muffler mods for the same saw, info as to how to do it or pictures of it, any help on either of these would be greatly appreciated

For muffler mods, just buy the magnum front cover. it has an extra exhaust port already machined into it. The outside spike is 1122 664 0501 inside spike is 1122 664 0506
The cover is one I am unsure of. looking at the IPL I get confused.

thanx for the #s old saw addict. what is IPL? MY SAW SAYS MAGNUM ON THE TOP DOES THAT MEAN IT ALREADY HAS THE MAGNUM FRONT COVER OR NOT? IF NOT WILL THAT COVER DO THE TRICK FOR ME IS THERE A PART # FROM STIHL OR A WEB SITE TO LOOK THIS STUFF UP.

IPL means Illustrated Parts List. If you do a search on this site, the part number for the magnum muffler cover is here somewhere. since your saw is a MS440, it almost surely doesnt have the ported cover.

These numbers/descriptions are straight off the parts bags:

9214 320 0700&nbsp; LOCK NUT M5
9008 319 0960&nbsp; HEX HEAD SCREW M5&times;12</font></tt>

It's an outside spike that lines right up with the stock inside spike except for the bottom spike, which protrudes a tad more than the inner one because the outer rack has a more straight up/down profile than the curved inner one.

yes, there is, www.giftsofwood.com which is a site run by a member. Thompson1600 I think. its got many parts lists in PDF format and service manuals as well.

1117 664 0500 i ordered 2 of them today...smaller than the 1122 #'s

I want one of those spikes, plus the nuts and screws that hold the spike in place. I just dont want to visit a dealer that I dont trust.
