Hi, My 041 runs rally great however, beneath the filter ccover is a black piece of plastic with the following numbers 1110-141-1104. Beneath these are the 111 Ro. Does this make any scense to anyone. It looks as if this is just a filter cover, however this appears will restrict the air supply. Shall I omit this item? I bought the saw used several years ago and the box that it came in had this plastic part inside. Can anyone guess what I am getting ready to do?
I enjoy this forum. Any other 041 users, or is this saw considered over the proverbial hill? Thanks for the information, Ken

Kenskip 1,
It appears that the part in question draws air from the handle area of the saw. I'm guessing that the reason is that the air in that area is cleaner than up near the bar & chain.
Air is compressable...I wouldn't worry about it.
I still use mine. I like the exhaust tone.

I also use a 041 for what to me is big stuff (20" up). Love it, it seems a bit slow but then I ain't no speed demon anymore anyhoo. Use a Husky 51 for limb/trim, 310 (just new last fall) for bucking up to 20"
