spent all day in the rain fueling trucks, chippers, bobcat etc. fixing chainsaws, getting preped...but looks like for SE VA. that alex was a dud. good though, most of this area is still shaking off isabell.
i know storms bring alot of money to our pockets, but having lived in an area that got devastated last year, i know it brings pain to a lot of people too. made my profession mean something more last year when people stoped to bless me or bring out cookies and gatorade to this sweaty stranger cutting trees out of buildings and off streets

With the shape of the SE VA coast most storms hammer the Outer Banks and then run out to sea. We're lucky most of the time. But just the thought of going through all that destruction makes me shudder. Looks like there's another one brewing, but who knows where it will go. Later, Roger.

Rocky, sorry about the font on the NWS bulletins. It would be a lot of work to change it to normal format.

We were keeping kind of a passive eye on Alex out this way, looking to doing some more storm chasing this winter, but as booked as I am now it really isnt worth a second look. If another like Lili or Isebell hit after the elk season give us a call, We would be more than excited to come out an sub for some of you local guys.

Been there, done that, starting a collection of T-shirts.

im thinking of putting together a type of 'A-TEAM' of UK arborists[public school boys only no riff raff ] for any type of storm work worldwide

we should only need a mornings notice just time to pack a flask of tea,and knock up a few cheese and piccerlilly sangers for the journey

ive got a morris minor ''traveler ' all kitted up and ready to jolly well go..after weve overseen clean up operrations we'll introduce the natives of what ever land were in to the game of 'cricket'

HOWZ THAT :D :D

and not forgetting to pack plenty of marmite flavoured crisps. dont believe they have them in those third world countries.

maybe our friends across the pond could confirm that

Marmite? Never heard of it. What is it? Actually, for the record, here is a few things that Rolla has mentioned that I don't know about:

piccerlilly sangers
morris minor 'traveler'

Just did a search on marmite. Is it like Vegemite? Cuz' that stuff is nasty!

Clearly you have never had marmite on crumpets. Roll your 'r' when you say crumpets, crrrrumpets.

And I could dig some bangers and mash. Rockin bush tucka.:p

similar to vegemite i think, marmite is a yeast extract spread. thick black and yummy.
morris travelers an old car.
picerlilly is picerlilly, and sanger is sandwich
