Got out'a bed around 4:30 AM and it was just a bit chilly in the house... at least a bit chillier than the wife and kids would like it. Started a small fire. Temp outside was in the 30's, with a pretty good wind and cloudy. Around 11:00 AM the sun came out, warmed up to near 60 by 2:00 PM... fire is out and house is plenty warm. The wind was blowing out of the south, the perfect direction for me to blow leaves into the ditch. Man, with that 25-35 mph wind all I had to do was get those leaves moving and the wind did the rest for me. With the leaves cleaned up I could see the grass was a bit long... so I mowed the yard... IN NOVEMBER! I've never before in my life mowed in November... and all I was wearing was a flannel shirt. "Round 4:30 PM the wind switched to the north-west and the temp started dropping... 6:00 PM and I'm starting the fire again. Strange day, yesterday. 28-degrees outside right now and they're calling for snow tonight... just gotta' love Iowa weather.
