That's good that the dealer is giving you a new Saw. I would expect nothing less shelling out $500 plus for a new Saw that did not run like it should. The squeaky wheel gets the grease! You made a good descision buying from a local dealer brother.

I will try and find out what was wrong with the saw. The owner was just as curious as I was. He said the saw will go back to Husky and they will tear it down to determine the cause. I am sure if he finds out he will tell me and in turn I will post the results here. Thanks again for everyones help.

Mike, the low speed at least is adjustable on all saws unless I am mistaken. You are starting to sound like you just don't like chainsaws.

Hi Max, what mix are you using? If your using synthetics, try some tried and true Dino oil, such as Castrol, Husky or Stihl mix.
The synthetics have a tendancy to alter the way the saw runs, especially as it returns to idle or is trying to get up on the muffler.
Also, a pound of sparkplugs is worth a pound of cure.
Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,

I watched the tech try and adjust the card with the limiters removed from the carb. The tech had total adjustment avail. to him and it still stumbled really bad off idle.

Mix: I was using Husky Dino black bottle 45:1 w/Shell 93 Oct.

When the tech was adjusting the saw he dumped my mix and used shop mix and it still ran bad.

I want to know just as bad as you guys and I will try and find out.

They tech stated there was a $ 17,000.00 (seventeen) thousand dollar fine if he did not replace the limiters...is that so?

PS
What is all the spark plug hub bub?

Search for posts my Mike Mass keying on the term "spark plug".

Regarding the fine, I posted something similar <a href="http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?postid=96251&highlight=EPA+fine#post96251" target="_blank">previously</a>.

Mike, there might have been some other issues with the carb such as inlet needle adjustment. I don't know that that is typical of that particular saw or not, but have not heard a lot about inability to get low speed rich enough. Maybe you needed a new spark plug lol!

Brad, I think his "signiture" is in reference to our friend from Canada who has been known by three names.

I got the new 357xp today. WOW it runs great compared to the last one. It feels and sounds like a different saw altogether.
The last one must have been a Monday morning hangover saw.
I'm one happy customer! Off to the woods!
