I just brought a vermeer 252 stump grinder. This is the 4th one I've had. The wheel on this one seems to be binding when it is shut down. Works fine when it is engaged. It is a late model machine and I was wondering if there is some sort of braking mechancism or clutching adjustment that would be engaged when the switch was turned off in order to slow down the wheel faster. All the other machines I've had spin freely. This one spins, but spins with a great deal of resistance. The bearings seem to be OK and there is no unusual noise after it is engaged. Anyone?
