Steve here...
Cut down a little fence row style Hard Maple yesterday. It came out to 34" across, just above the flair. After making two cuts with my friends MS660, we realized the Hard Maple was kicking the 660's a$$. We dragged out the Super 2100 and blasted thru the Maple stem and turned it into 18" rounds in no tyme. WOW nothing like big cubes... No we didn't have a 346XP with a 32" bar laying around to try...lol
Here are a few pics from this afternoon.

Here's a pic of the 2100 and yours truely going thru the Hard Maple like cork!!!Well maybe not quite cork but close

ps. The Oh Nine Oh pulled a no show today..Could'nt get her to pump oil!!!

Z4,
How much does that claw for the bobcat weigh and how much did it cost? Also, how durable and effective is it? I have a Massey 1440 tractor with a loader and would like to have an attachement like that for land clearing and moving brush to the chipper. Most of the grapples I have seen weigh around 800# and my tractor only lifts 1250#. This doesn't leave alot of room for log weight. The one pictured looks alot lighter than the ones I have seen so far.

Two 2100's??

Scott,
Steve here... You are correct..
Xander,
He paid $1500ish for the claw... I don't think it weighs that much, I will ask him tomorrow.. He bought it from the Bobcat dealer. It works awesome, saves the two of us alot of tyme, and muscle.

Great pics Steve! Those MS660's are bad boys and need a spankin ever now and then.

Pre 98 dual port

Rich,
Steve here...
I put a dual port muffler on that saw before it ever saw gasoline.. I also modified the baffle per KD. The saw runs very strong, but that Maple was like cement.

mike,
Steve here... Thanks for the Positive feedback, there always seems to be at least one arm chair qb in the crowd...

Zander, my buddy with the bad grip,( per Mike) said his claw weighs about the same as the bucket, maybe at the most 100lbs to 150lbs

Nobody ever gives me a break! Plus, maybe it'll save his life. Ever have an 066 kickback across your juggler vein? I hate when that happens.

I knew you wouldn't expect anyhting less. :D (from me anyway)

Hi Steve, good job on the Hammer Maple. It's amazing how much extra work those Goontrees take.
There is something about long bars and bighardwood that don't mix. Had you used a 24"er on the 066, it would have galloped thru the fibre.
The 2100 is very impressive for sure which attests to Ole Kens work.
P.S. the chopper using the 066 in the bucking cut didn't appear to be doing anything dangerous, but rather keeping the saw under control, however, only chainsaw world can tell us that for sure.

Steve here...
Have some tyme to post a few more pics, my buddy Trent was wining about the belly shot.

Heres another shot of the wimppy boyracer, she's sportin a 28" ES bar

Woops,
This one

Besides the claw picking up the stem to take pressure off the lims, we also use it to hold logs to cut down to size with the saw.
Keeps the chain outa the dirt
