Probably not. Those 76 and 77 tie straps and presets have a completely unique size and shape. That was during the time when Oregon was big enough to radically experiment with chain types but not big enough to do the market research to really know what people were going to buy (as far as new chain types go.)

I'm sure it wouldn't have caught on, in the PNW, but it's some sweet chain for a zippy mid 60cc saw!....That stuff will really cut! I wonder who came out with it first??.....Oregon with the 77 & 76, or Stihl with the 33TS??

Rob, I've had good luck drilling the dl hole on the LP chain just a hair larger, then you can use the regular Oregon presets.
I believe it was the Oregon presets I used, or Windsor.

Ed....Unfortunately, that won't work for this chain. The link is a bit lower profile than the regular 3/8.

I'll double check my presets, I might be wrong on the brand. I'm pretty sure the profile was the same, or real close.

Chaps

I know this is a long shot, but I need a pair of chaps. I'd like full wrap and 36". Anyone have some they don't wear? Lots to trade in most colors or green stuff.

Sorry sold the last batch as soon as it came in to a couple guys waiting from last time. But I am always stumbling on and buying it for just chassis for the race guys to use to make race chain with. :msp_wink:

Maybe I should be saving mine for a different market?? I had no idea the race guys were using that stuff....I'm cutting firewood with mine...lol:hmm3grin2orange:

Just picked up a 266xp block with a decent closed port top end and spark. The rings were shot, but the jug looks good with minor marks. Piston may be ok too.

Trading for ?

76 cutters inst worth ****. It is the light weight chassis the 76 uses and they put 72 cutters on it. They build the chain after it is broken down and 76 cutters removed and 72 cutters installed. :msp_wink:

Your worn 76 chains with no cutter use left would be perfect already broken in. Bet someone pm's you asking for it now to use.

Got some small bits and pieces for an 028, coil, hardware, av mounts, rear muffler half...

would love to trade for green stuff, or 026 pieces!

24" sugihara 3003 mount bar for trade to a total/tsumura in 24" or ???

Crankcase day

I have crank cases for these saws:

Stihl 024avs burned piston and rough crank bearings.. Rod bearings seem decent..also have a starter and a bunch of other bits for this.

Craftsman 335 equivalent with good bearings and bad piston.

Pioneer farmsaw. Very nice block and crank.

I seem to have accumulated a large number of poulan clamshell saws. Most are poulan pro saws like 221, 260, 2900, etc. most are a few dif colors, but all have been gone through and had either new engines, crank seals or??? And are now working well. If anyone needs a truck saw and has something cool to trade, let me know.

does anyone have a 12 or 14" bar for a ms-170,, i need it in 3/8lp 50 gauge,,, i have a 12" on it but its 43 gauge,, i want to be able to run a 50 gauge since all my other small saws have that plus i have about 50+ feet of chain,, i have a 12 or 14" picco 43 gauge that i would trade for it or i have some of the useless green paper
