Has anybody tried replacing the "nonreplacable" batteries in a PET tack? Ive got an old one that quit, so I ground off the case and found two 3V button batteries hooked in parallel. So thats still 3V . I put two D size batt. in series for 3V . Wired it up and it works but the readings are way off. Is it worth it to try to locate the same kind off batteries or is it trash can?
