I bought this saw around 4 to 5 years ago from chainsawguy. The saw was really new looking when I got it could almost pass for a new saw but it has been used a lot because it is/was my and others favorite saw. About 4 or 5 weeks ago it finally gave up. My bil was working with us on his days off and borrowed a ground saw one evening, used the gas that was left in my jug then filled it with some misc gas he had and guessed on the mixture. The next day my guys were working out of that jug and the 372 cut loose pretty early in the day.1426550877255985566474.jpg 1426550877255985566474.jpg 1426550947748-171335773.jpg

The listing when I bought this saw said it had a piston from an 064 machined down but it is clearly a husqvarna piston I'm just not sure which 1. I bought an oem 372 p/c in the trading post here when this happened but now I'm wondering if I can send this 1 to a builder here to recreate it. The piston has a substantial popup but is a 1 ring husqvarna. The new piston is a 2 ring. The cylinder has some pretty good gouges but I don't see any work to it other than maybe some polishing in the intake. So I was wondering if I could figure out which piston to get machined and put it back together with the new cylinder.

A 372 (71cc) piston is 50mm. An 064 piston is 52mm. The 75cc 372 is 51.2mm.
