One ironic point; a goodly number of Guy's copy edit changed yours I see a number of his suggestions as more style, not my voice

If I had attempted to insert any of my "style" or "voice",...it would have been a completely different paper. It's hard to resist, but proofreading cannot change content, and editing should not replace the author's style.

good comments, good paper. yes those whacks at superfluous imo verbiage were a take it or leave it thing. i often ask reviewers to send one copy of content edits and another of style (if they feel the need). One thing I wish trackchanges would do is allow 2 colors to be used.

Chicago Manual of Style has an online version; very handy.

so whatcha takin' next semester? Philip (that orange haired kid) just got a paid internship today as a technical writer for the distance ed dept at ncsu where he finishes this year (knock on head). dad is bustin his buttons you betcha!

I've been waiting to see how the math final went before signing up for anything. The attention to detail needed with algebra his soooo hard for me. I have so many little transcription errors, flipped signs... the exam took me ~2.5 hrs.

I'm going to look at Chem 101 then schedule other classes around that. I've been kicking around taking a Minor on too, I like Philos, and PolySci looks interesting too.

I'm tracked for a BS in EcoSci right now, but it looks a little thin. I may go with a minor in that and major in Botany. I still have a few units to take before I have to commit. The VA pays an equivalent to a full-boat scholarship to the BS, and WI-VA pays tuition for up to an MS. I took a few units on WI-GI-Bill before I found I was eligible for VA VocRehab.

Yes golly they do have it flowing--they paid for 3 semesters at UW Mad after I got banged up back in '85.

:agree2: the last few dendros i have resolved to stop at 1000-1200 words but then stuff happens and bango it's over 2000 before I know what happened.

Arrgh! Back when I went to college, you could get a BS or BA in biology, chemistry, or botany. unless you branched out to physics, or mathematics.

Yep. That was it for "science" degrees!
