Here are some pics of an 028 that Tom was nice enough to send my way. It needed a new piston and I was able to clean up the cylinder, and I went through the fuel system. Put her back together and it was running in three pulls! Idles and runs like a new saw. This was my first attempt at a repair and I thought it turned out pretty good, thanks to the tips and advise I received from this site. Thanks again Tom!

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm very proud of that saw. RR2,the bar is a 16".

Don the last time I saw that chainsaw it sure didn't look like that, wow. You did a masterfull job on that old saw. I recall a shabby looking old saw that was found in a file cabinet by a customer who didn't want to put one penny in it. Looks like I found that saw a good home and good owner for it. It looks really great. Good job ole boy. I see you have a 038 there your working on too, share the pics when you get her done.

For those of you that don't know Don, he lives down in Fla and has a fancy for chainsaws. He doesn't post much but he's just like us, he's has the hobby fever with saws. If you think that 028 looks good ask him to post some pics of his 031 he rebuilt, its a beauty....
