That's a neat little gizmo ya got there Tommy.

You mean ta tell me saw chains aren't bi-directional. Dang all those wasted years!!

I only put my chains on backwards when Woody is in town, least that way he can "almost" keep up with my Stihl's,hehehehe

hahhaha, just stood the piston up to show how the compressor is locked on it. Cheap tool but without it those saws can really be tuff.

I can see why, Stihl does engineer some nice tools. "Did I just say That ?"

Three bucks, You say. Well I'll give you Two bucks for that used one.

Of all the years I owned a 029 super, I never had to open it up.
"Did I just say That Too ?"

If you had 029 tore down without that little tool you'd give me 10.00 for it easily, lol.

I got me of all things today a cap puller from Stihl to remove the big caps on their trimmer carbs. Been using needle nose pliers and breaking one every now and then. This is another little cheapie tool that really works great. The bosses keep telling me if ya need anything just get it so here lately I have been eyeing the Stihl tool catalog quite abit. The one bar stud on those saws, 029,039,290,310,390, is a pain in the butt to get out sometimes. I see they have a tool made just for that. It will be on my next order. Before this season is over everything in the catalog will be in the tool box, only because the boss said get whatever ya need, I need em all,lol

Yeah, don't listen to her. She tends to exaggerate--I'm not really all that much bigger than a stud horse.

Hmmmmmmmmm that right, She told me something about you and 16 penny nail have alot in common, she never said anytihng about a horse,:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Anyone that attempts to install a piston in a Stihl 029,039/290/310/390 cylinder without this little compressor are most often going to break a ring. It can be done without this little 3.00 tool but for 3.00 why chance breaking a ring. Most have never seen this this tool. I just replaced a cylinder and piston in a MS310 on the back porch table, yes another SIDE JOB, only 50.00for this one, not nearly what a tree job makes on Sunday, grrrrrr.

Anyway while I was at it I thought I'd show this little tool that makes putting pistons back in these saws so easy. Have a look see and look close at the cylinder and you can see why its tuff to get the piston back in without this special little ring compressor that locks the rings for you. With this tool its 30 seconds and no cussing at all.

I'm in the wrong buisness. I can't get any tools specialty tools from any ag manufacturer for under a 100$
