GUH -- I just started working on another 036 topend. Oh, well -- I'm only about 50% done with the intake side. Guess I better start taking pics. Also, there's a few pics of the original port job in my Dolmar thread. Just sorta slapped 'em in there as an afterthought.

I'm sort of obsessed with the idea of light/fast setups for the fireline. Need a saw, don't want to carry any more than necessary. You know how it is -- you only cut a bit most of the time but you have to lug the thing all over hell and back anyway. Trimming the fat just makes sense.

I agree with you. Light, fast and keeps the RPM's up. Unfortunately with the company I work. Modded saws is a very bad no no. Get fired material. Half way done already? Keep going. Dont worry about the photos.

Madhatte I have a stock for now 036 pro with a full wrap from Madsens and got the 044 dual dawg kit to go with it.My question is how did you get your outside dawg to line up with the inside one,The roller connected to the inside dawg is probably a 1/2 inch behind the outside dawg. The kit's part #'s are inside dawg 1122/06 b,outer 1122/01 b.Ive called Madsens back and they said that the kit is correct and that I will have to do some mods to either the bar cover or the outside dawg to make it work.Any help would be appreciated.

Mine came with the wrap bar and no dawgs. When I put the dawgs on, they just fit. I can only guess that a previous owner did the alignment for me.

However, if I had to do it myself, I'd start by installing the inner dawg -- that's the one that isn't gonna move. I'd then mock up the outer dawg's location aligning the two with the chain catcher. I'd mark the location of the holes on the dawg where it sits on the clutch cover, then drill to fit.

Oh -- also -- a lot of those clutch covers came undrilled. I'm guessing mine was one of them. There is no second, misaligned set of holes on it.

Usually one of the dogs is just bent a little bit or its in how you put it on. Don't be afraid to bend it a little.

It's funny that you bring up the dogs not matching up. I switched dogs and clutch over on my 036 yesterday. Well the outer dog didn't line up. So I just took a well, I mean well used chain file and filed the bottom whole in the dog out. Pert near 1/4 of an inch just to get them lined up. Mad. I'm going to have to get a few pic's of my 036 and slap them up on here for you.
