I could cut 10 to 15mm off one side of the circlip I'm guessing...

Any such thing as a 2 piece circlip?

It'll either break or be mangled beyond recovery.

But if I cut a bit off I may be able to save it, dunno.

Dont know....wouldn't be much....few bucks from a bearing wholesaler I guess...cut it and put in 2 bits?

A 3/4 round circlip should work fine in my guess. Doesnt have to be 4/5th s surely?

i have never used one cut down but they do have a hell of a lot of spring in them and they can flex a good bit sideways as well

Cutting 15mm off it on one side...it will open at most 5 or 6mm....that'll do the trick.

i think you are on to somthing

No biggy. Can't loose the wheel because the rear bolted on only has about 2m play before it contacts the hub.....I'm happy with a cut circlip.

Just over 280 deg circlip has worked and fully seated.

I pity whoever has to remove it.

lasoo the circlip rebate with some mild fencing wire and pliers twist it to tight fix
