About 12 beers wet and dry with soapy water and a buff at the end but its still a bit flat needs more buffing

Now just waiting on a crank seal to finish it. All the mounts were rooted but I had some second hand 2100 ones that fitted in nice

I heard it was closer to a thousand beers.

I learnt on a stick as most probably did but a mig is definitely easier to use for general fab. Stick works better on heavier stuff, bit hit and miss on the thin stuff.

Stick is a handy skill to have and if you do get one try to get a DC inverter model. A bit easier to use than AC I find.

A reasonable quality mig will cost a several hundred $$, cheap migs can be a pain to use - dodgy wire feed, limited settings, etc.

I'd probably go with a mig for a young fella in 2016

if you go mig dont get a gasless only setup and never run gassless.

Not a big fan of gasless either, but paying boc rental is no fun. Our local servo has started selling gas bottles outright, so now I never have to pay rental again and just refill when I need too. Great idea I think

Multi-process.....MIG....MMA

FFS.....Some of these units will do stainless, steel and aluminium....

The good MIG are exy though....think I'll look at something cheaper....
