Getting a little OT here, but does anyone have any experience in backing up a website ?

I have to update the core thingamajig of a site and it's strongly suggested everything is backed up before an update.
Just reading through the 'simple' backup instructions is inducing a cold sweat.
I don't want to be an IT expert, I just need to shuffle a few things around and update a couple of things, but this looks technical, nay, it looks serious.

Or am I just a dumbarse ? :msp_confused:

Sometimes, even a world class brainiac like myself is stumped, and has to break down and Google something. It seems that he's calling em big orange bricks, which, having hefted one a few times, is about right.

Steve, that's why I called it a besser block, but I think Neil was implying that I was implying it may have meant something else ?

Or he was just getting upset I was dissing one of his favorite saws, but i did say it with affection :D

Oh.

That's where the trouble started.

The 'affection'. :monkey:

HOLDEN WINS AGAIN
Na still a sad day coming from a holden fanatic who are we going to hang #### on now? Don't think holdens to far away either! It's gonna kill our little town of Geelong wonder were Julia is going to find jobs for all us in the manufacturing sector! Make us go back to uni?

Shell and Alcoa will be next then Geelong will be no more.

It will survive, but it will take time, just look at Newcastle with the loss of BHP's massive Steelworks.
It was Newy, yet Newy is still there and without argument a far better place to live now although the main CBD has never recovered, but apparently that's a council #### up, the suburbs are thriving.

Other industries move in, the infrastructure can't be ignored, it just won't be on the same scale of one major company.

No it isn't but thankyou for sharing another of your interests with us Matt.

Lovely dogs, whip smart, I do like standard poodles although I'm not too fussed on the miniatures, they're a little too like their namesake, the politician Christopher 'Poodles' Pyne.

Was in Newcastle few years back and couldn't believe how many shops were closed in the cbd! Geelongs will get killed of too, as with most larger city's their developing new sub divisions with their own shopping centres so nobody has the need to travel to the cbd!

Gee Wizz Bob, seems you to have a short memory. Not being part of the Association was not your choice. The reason you suck. I have a 9 page letter addressing your Bullsh-it and ramblings and advising you of what you had to do to become a member. Hence why are not a member.

Don't make it personal Bob. I have a whole lot of stuff I can share that may show the truth. :msp_biggrin:

As for bullying. if you didn't keep dragging me into your crap I wouldn't need to make any comment to you or about you.

Well flash ya stuff little willie as regards you and your mate, you and Neil are the ones who started this garbage you two need to get a life after all you two didn't invent saw racing

Interesting snippet from one of the economics writers in today's SMH.

The best thing the government can do now for Ford is to cut off the drip - to use that part of the latest $32 million package it hasn't handed over to encourage perhaps an Indian or a Chinese car maker to take it over. The idea is being promoted by economist Nicholas Gruen, who worked on the Hawke Labor government's Button car plan. He says they might have the drive to make something work.

Ford couldn't make Jaguar/Land Rover work, it hemorrhaged money big time.

Tata, the Indian conglomerate bought it for several billion and everyone in the car industry laughed and said that was the end of Tata.

Tata turned Jag/Land Rover around so quickly I reckon Ford execs heads spun. Mark Phelan: Tata drives Jaguar and Land Rover to improved sales | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

I think that says enough about Ford management ;)

Bye, Bob. Have a nice vacation. And just so you know...the next time you get banned you'll be gone for good.

You were warned before about being needlessly argumentative. You didn't listen.

Spider bite? Yeah, I've heard of those. No rash, though.

Oh my goodness, that would not be good.
I see funnel web spiders in hollow logs when sawing them up, they look real dosile until you poke a stick at them, thankfuly I only see maybe 3 or 4 a year.

Just have a look at those lovely slab sides, the square bum, the angular top and the sheer size of it.

It's a bloody besser block with a handle in a cool orange colour I tell you ! :D

Off to work, have a real job to do at a local cafe.

if I don't fix one of the machines they'll stop serving me coffee :(

I can't say I have much experience with websites, but it should just be a bunch of code hosted by a server somewhere.

I will publicly apologise for my behaviour regarding our currant issues on this thread.
This is a great and popular thread, with top members from different back rounds, its a shame it gets interrupted by stuff which should be discussed behind the shed face to face.

In short, we are very protective of our racing association, our committee, members who stand behind us.
All new prospective competitors are welcome, most handle the basic training / demonstrating ability for safe use without hassles.
