...I've ever owned. Just got a new Husky 3120XP Its beautiful Man my wifes about to leave me Cuz i spend so much time with the saw. I paid about $985 for it I've seen them going for $1120 What are they going for everywhere else? Does the Stihl 088 Magnum perform similar to my 3120XP, and whats the average price for the stihl?
Thanks

Hi JD, both saws you mentioned are pretty gutless stock. Do a few mods, even muffler work and you will never want a stock saw in your hands ever again. A mildly modified 066 will embarass a stock 088, plus you get extra life to your saw.

Welcome JD!! your 3120 is a good saw..but needs work...and as Gyro said...so does the stock 088......modified saws are becoming the norm out there...and your wife WILL leave you when you run one..lol..cause it will be at your bedside, if not in bed with you...

Welcome Oldskewlogger, Ignore these guys, they've not been breathing pure air for some time now, combine the thin Canadian air with the large volume of spent pre-mix they've inhaled and you can see how they'd get to be "horsepower happy". I have been able to resist saw modifications so far but am weakening. I hear it's an addiction worse than heroin!

Needed: 12 Step Program for Admitted Saw Junky

I confess, i am a hot saw junkie.

Well, I just couldn't resist Gyro's attempt to keep new business away from the noble saw builders, (And likely to support his addiction of needing a brand new tuned saw by the best builder around, every new log job)and practically stole a 346XP-G and 372XPG-W on ebay for $906!!!

Code:

G- Greffardized
W- Walkerized
M- Maden's Power tuned
D- massaged by the man, Ken Dunn hisself

My kitty:
Husky 335XPT-W
Husky 372XP-M
Stihl 044-M
Craftsman (Solo 651SP)- G
Husky 3120XP-G (36, 42, 60 inch bars!!-there ain't no slowin' down the monster!)

And if gyro didnt put sugar in the tanks, 2 more mighty fine "Still" busters.......

Hi All,

First off, I am very impressed and grateful for the responses that seasoned sawyers freely share with us newbies. Thanks for the welcome.
I haven't dabbled in the hot saw deal yet, but I have never been able to leave anything with a piston alone yet, so I'm not sure why I still cut with stock. The worm has turned.

Cheers,
Sean
