i recently replaced my pro teeth with superteeth. what is the best way to dress my wheel with these teeth? ie. right,right/ left, left/ right,straight/left straight?

help

oh please great arbor gods have Mercy on young frodo. he has a large stump job tomorrow and really needs to get these teeth in the right order so he can have a productive day.

It would probably help, young Frodo, if we had a bit more info. Considering there are several different manufacturers of stump grinders and countless models, asking "how to I set up the wheel" is a pointless question.

teeth

sorry it is a ver 665a with a 16 pocket wheel 32 teeth . the front teeth are all on the same plane.ie. same distance from edge of wheel. the pockets that are directly under the front pockets are all at slight different distances from the wheel. i changed the wheel from pro teeth to super teeth. i was so excited to have these new teeth i took all the old ones so fast i did,nt keep track of the old order. thanks

The wheel set up should be all curved left and right all the way around except for 2 straights on opposite sides of the wheel. The 2 straights will be set opposite each other on the wheel 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position. Also use a threaded straight on 12 o'clock side and a pocket straight on the 6 o'clock side. This is pretty standard configuration so it should work until you get owners manual from vermeer and it might tell different. Most important thing to do on the wheel is keep everything balanced. Always have the same weight on opposite sides of the wheel. Good luck with machine, you will like the superteeth, and when you need them retipped check out demott tool a sponsor on this site.

ah thank you  i understand that both straights are side by side at 6 and 12 thank you

Not side by side, a pocket curved and threaded straight at 12 oclock and a threaded curved and pocket straight at 6 oclock.

the straights should be opposite one another at 12 and 6. there are 4 teeth at each "station" front pocket and lower rear pocket one straight in front pocket at 12 and one in rear lower at 12 on opposite side

OK not sure if I am being clear. There will be only 2 straight teeth on the entire wheel. they will be a pocket straight at 12 oclock and a threaded straight at 6 oclock. They will be set on the outer most ring of pocket holes. The outer ring of teeth do most of the cutting and will wear the quickest. You can experiment with some different configurations, just be sure to keep the wheel balanced and use the same teeth on opposite sides. I ran a combo of Vermeer teeth as my inner teeth for a while and the Rayco on the outer while I was changing over to use up the old inventory. Make sue you use the correct cap screws for the Rayco teeth, they will be shorter than th e vermeer. You do not want the threads sticking out past the pocket, makes it a pain to get them off. Also always use never-sieze on the cap screws every time you change teeth. good luck.
